WE'RE BACK!!

Hello Friends!!

I have decided to BLOG again! I missed it a lot and now that I am home with Kaden again I have more to talk about than I did when I was working. Let me take a moment to catch up on our lives.

We have now been in Ozark for 1 1/2. We are still in love with the area and our home. Kaden is now 2 1/2 and is just the most amazing kid any parent could ask for. He will be starting pre-school this summer and he couldn't be more excited to go to "school". I can't believe my "baby" is almost 3! Ugh, time really flies when you get older.

I have plans on opening up a coffee shop this fall in Ozark. It's been something that I've wanted to do for a long time, and I feel like now is as good of a time as any. We are looking for and still waiting on some potential investors at the moment, so wish us luck!

Kyle is still doing the same thing he's been doing for years now...writing software. Recently the company has developed a new system and it's keeping them busy installing it in numerous counties.

Like I said, I have decided to start this up again...when I stopped blogging, I had decided that I had enough people on my facebook page that I didn't have the time to keep up with both this and that when there wasn't really any need to. But, I want to be able to keep a "diary" of our family for us to look at as years go by and I figured this is the easiest way.

The pictures below are Kaden these days. He is everything a little boy should be. Very rambunctious, ornery, and into EVERYTHING!! He has a funny personality, always joking around...his favorite joke right now is "Guess what...chicken butt"...and a few knock knock jokes. His favorite thing to do (unfortunately) is play Mario Bros on the Wii. We are limited to 1 hour a day, but the rest of the day consists of him asking to play. He also likes to ride his "bike", play with kids at the daycare we take him to when Kyle and go to the gym, visit Grandma, color, play with his trains, trucks and race cars, and put together puzzles. He is OBSESSED with the Toy Story movies. He has almost all the characters from the original Toy Story and Toy Story 2 movie (just like his uncle Ryan). His favorite shows are Umi Zoomi, Upside Down Show, Mario and Luigi Show (don't ask...it's horrible) Mickey Mouse, Kai Lan, and this new show on Disney about Captain Hook.

He is almost fully potty trained...we still haven't gotten the night time part down, but we are working on it...I'm pretty proud of him thus far in the potty training department...he's pretty good about letting us know when he has to go...we've had a couple of accidents, but I think all kids go through that.

My grandma, his great grandma (wow that's crazy to type out) bought him a pillow pet and he's pretty much addicted to it at night time. He won't go to bed without it...who knew those things would be a hit with kids?!

I think that's about it with the catching up...I am going to try my best to blog at least once a week if not more...so keep checking back for more pics and stories!! :)

Just Some Videos

This video is just a random day in the life of Kaden.
This one is of Kaden pretending to sleep (listen to his snores) and also poking daddy in the "butt"...or bellybutton.

Our Christmas Pictures (better late than never)

What's this white stuff?

So, it snowed on Christmas Eve, and little bit on Christmas day but nothing like it did last night and today...I think so far we have 3 inches...and then we are getting another big snow storm on Wed. and Thurs...but anyway, so since this our first "big snow"...we took Kaden out to play in it...he thought he was so big and cool...he would fall over every couple of steps and if Kyle would try to carry him Kaden would say "walk walk" because he wanted to get down in it. I think he was falling down on purpose though because for the first time it didn't hurt when he fell on the ground...he would just lay there until Kyle or I would come and help him up...he's such a booger!

Happy New Year!!

This year was definitely a roller coaster year. Not only for us, but for so many around us. I think out of all the years Kyle and I have been together this year has proven our REAL love for each other. Though we were blessed with so many things this year, a new house, a healthy and bright son, jobs for both of us, and still being strong as a family. Hopefully 2010 will be a lot smoother for everyone!!

Silver Dollar City 2009

Before Christmas, we decided to take Kaden on his first trip to Silver Dollar City to see the festival of lights. Of course he loved it!! He was so disappointed that he could ride any of the rides though...I'm not kidding either...he was mad when we would pull him away from them. It was definitely super cold when we went, but he didn't seem to mind...he just sat back and enjoyed himself. The one thing he didn't like though, was the gingerbread man at the end of the day parade...he punched him right in the face...funny for us, but not so much for the gingerbread man!! Hopefully we will get to do this every year...make a family tradition out of it!!

Christmas Tree oh Christmas Tree

Sorry about his messy face and clothes...we just got done eating dinner and usually wait to clean him completely up until bath time...

...We are totally excited about spending our first Christmas in our new house. It seems so much more warm and inviting than it did in our old house. I can't wait to start all the traditions with Kaden in our new home. This year I think it will be a lot more fun with Kaden and Christmas. He is understanding more and more about things going on around him.

Speaking of Kaden, he is now 17 months old. He is just as ornery as all get out. He repeats EVERYTHING you say, and remembers everyone he sees. He loves to help us clean up, especially after dinner. He scoots his chair in and puts his fork in the dishwasher. He is saying close to 100 words in his everyday vocabulary. He is starting to speak in sentences right now too.

I have gone back to work, just for something to do, and also to give us a little bit of extra money to put back in our savings account. The days that I work Kaden stays with his "Dee-Dee" aka Kyle's mom. He loves to slide down the little slide that she got for him...he shows off on it every time I go to pick him up. ;) He also loves to watch Handy Manny right before his nap time.

Kaden has names for all of his favorite t.v. shows including, "Mick" (mickey mouse), "Pooh" (winnie the pooh), "Mammie" (handy manny), and of course "ELMO"...he LOVES Elmo!!

We are all doing wonderful here in the Ulrich house. I hope that everyone is enjoying their holiday season...I know we are!! :)
